SUSTAINABILITY

Adventure Forever®

Climate change is the crisis of our time, and our business has a footprint we're responsible for.

Our target is to cut our greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 50% by 2030, against a 2020 baseline, covering Scopes 1, 2, and 3. Our plan, progress, and independent review are available in our latest Sustainability Report.

People
the Planet

Adventure depends on healthy people and a healthy planet. We look at our work through both lenses: the environmental impact of how we make gear and the personal impact on those who use it.

How We Make an Impact

Design & Innovation

We design gear to be repaired and used for a long time. Every NEMO product is covered for up to 5 years internationally by our Adventure Forever Guaranteeâ„¢.

We develop materials, features, and products that have a smaller carbon footprint, like our OSMO™ tent fabric, which is made from 100% recycled yarns and offers water protection without PFAS. Additionally, our Endless Promise® products are engineered for recycling at end of life.

Responsible Sourcing

We work with our suppliers to reduce the chemical, water, and energy impacts of making our materials.

NEMO is a bluesign® System Partner. Three of our products (Flyer™, Double Haul™, and Dagger OSMO™) carry the bluepass PRODUCT mark, which certifies that the product's textile materials meet bluesign criteria for chemistry and production.

All fill in our down sleeping bags is certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), an independent animal welfare standard, and has been since 2017.

Carbon Accountability

We measure our emissions annually to track our progress against our carbon reduction goal, which is to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, and to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions.

NEMO's goal is validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative.

Advocacy for People & Planet

We use our brand platform to influence society and politics, protect public lands, and enable more diversity and inclusivity in the outdoors space.

NEMO is an active member of The Conservation Alliance, Outdoor Recreation Roundtable, Outdoor Alliance, and a founding member of the Outdoor Industry Association's Climate Action Corps. We are also longtime supporters of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership.

This is our endless promise®

We've built a collection of recyclable products to help keep NEMO gear out of the trash and on the trail and will take back EP products when they've reached the end of their usable life.
